Why Popcorn?
Pack 99 is self-funded, without direct financial assistance from Boy Scouts of America or St. Thomas More. With our adult leaders volunteering their time, 100% of the pack dues and fundraiser profits cover operating expenses like rank emblems, adventure belt loops, meeting supplies, and outings. In the past two years, popcorn sales even helped replace an air conditioning unit and install a chilled water fountain in the Scout House. Your support truly makes a difference!
The popcorn fundraiser is more than just a financial necessity - it’s a cherished Pack 99 tradition that helps our Scouts build confidence and develop valuable public speaking skills. Continuing this tradition is as important as the funds it generates. This year, our goal is $500 per Scout with 50% overall participation. But above all: Do Your Best.
How to Get Your Cub Scout Started
Step 1. DOWNLOAD THE APP
Install the 'Trail's End' app by Weaver Fundraising on your smartphone from the App Store or Google Play.
STEP 2. CREATE AN ACCOUNT (New Scouts only)
Create a new account by choosing a username, password, and using a parent’s email address. If you have multiple children, set up a separate account for each one, but you can use the same parent’s email for all accounts.
Pack 99’s Unit Code is GFBEG.
Returning Scouts: If your child has sold popcorn before, do not create a new account but use their existing username and password.
STEP 3. SELL POPCORN!
• Storefront Sales - Work a 2-hour shift with other Cub Scouts. No experience necessary! We have five weekend days available at Randall’s, Lowe’s, and REI.
• Wagon Sales - sell to neighbors or at your workplace. Email Christina Lovely at lovelyc148@gmail.com or text 650-862-1253 to get popcorn inventory.
• Online Sales - Share your Scout’s Trails-End on social media. Popcorn will be shipped directly to the buyer, though be aware that online prices may vary.
Parents, we would greatly appreciate your help with picking up popcorn from the warehouse or working as a shift manager.
STEP 4. WIN PRIZES!
• Sell just one item to earn a unique 2024 Sam Houston Area Council Popcorn Patch
• Accumulate points for an Amazon eGift Card - more sales, more points.
• The top three sellers per den and pack overall will receive trophies and a chance to throw a shaving cream pie at a parent or leader in December’s Pie-in-the-Face event.
